Scenes from a thrifting expedition

This is what was happening at St Bart's last Saturday. It's a one-day thrift shop in the hall of a very old church down the street.

The courtyard and the church

Come on in!

I thought about buying this cute little cross-stitched needle book, but I didn't...maybe I'll grab it if it's still there.

Someone had placed an old Hollywood pic of Virgina Mayo and Alan Ladd in this wallet. How funny and cool!

This vintagey waffle maker was in good shape for $5. I was considering it...

Thrift finds from the weekend

I hit the thrift store at St Bart's down the street, where they had ladies' clothes for $1.50 each; I wound up getting two very pretty and practically news blouses. I also found:

a brand-new, unopened pair of polka-dotted Evan Picone hosiery, originally $12, I paid 50 cents.

A cute little Christmas jar, 25 cents. I'll put candy in here when the time comes...

...this very vintage photograph album. It's huge! I may use it to put my stamp collection in, but that's another story, another day...

A nifty souvenir glass from Washington State; probably 1960s. I snap these up whenever I see them!

That's it - for now!

I'm going thrifting at lunchtime! Yay! It's Friday, the weather is gorgeous, the holidays are near, and I'm feeling inspired!

I'll share my finds...if I do in fact find anything! :)

Project Cozy appreciates donations in the form of acrylic yarn; pre-knitted hats, scarves, or gloves; and ribbon. Thank you for your support!

Wow. Halloween is over.

It comes and goes so quickly, does it not? :(

That means it's time to put away Mr Owl and the sculpey jack o'lanterns I made this summer.

Guess I also need to take down my 'creepy tree' with my hand-crafted tissue-paper bats...

I attended a few parties the day before Halloween, and enjoyed a quiet All Hallows evening at home, but no one came to get our candy!

Well...time to get ready for (dare I say it?) Christmas! Yikes, stripes!
