Thrifting Saturday

It was a quiet day yesterday at St Bart's Thrift Store. They're attached to the church, which was built in the 1890s, and are only open for a few hours on Saturdays. Lucky for me, they're right down the street. I could walk there, if need be.

I saw this giant lavender cardigan, with all that lovely yarn, and wondered how easy it would be to unravel it and reuse/recycle the yarn. Any ideas, knitters?

If you're old enough to remember the 1970s, you'll remember how popular and how ugly these smoke glasses were back then! Ugh.

Here's a shot of the ladies boutique - where they have the "fancier" clothes. There was a pair of ballet flats I considered getting, but the rest was pretty much old-lady clothes:

I have no idea what this toy is, and why it has a caution on the packaging that says it could bite!

I did manage to find some vintage scarves, which is all I walked out with. Slow day on the thrifting front, but...there's plenty more later.

Embroidery fun! Fin!

Remember those Sears Percale 1970s pillowcases I found at a yard sale a while back? They've been embellished with Sublime Stitching's Mermaids pattern. Some of it was done with vintage embroidery thread, and some with thread imported from England! Let me know whatcha think!
