Mending Monday Meow

I was given a king-sized, crocheted vintage cotton bedspread by a friend. She said I could try to mend it (it has several holes and tears) or cut it up for scrap. I think it's too pretty to slice and dice, so I am attempting to mend it with heavy-duty embroidery thread.
However, it's difficult to get any mending done when the cats decide to check the bedspread out. The have to sniff, and eventually crash, on the blanket to justify me not getting much work done. Ok, so perhaps this post features more about my kitties than the blanket, but I will share the results of my reparations at a later date, promise!
